Philly University Police SUV with AR-15 Inside Stolen

A Temple University police vehicle was driven off by a woman while officers were responding to a traffic accident in North Philadelphia.

A Philadelphia university police vehicle with a loaded AR-15 in the trunk was stolen during a call Sunday.

The theft happened at about 11 p.m. while Temple University police officers were at an accident in North Philadelphia, WPVI-TV reports. When an officer exited the vehicle, a woman who wasn't part of the crash jumped in and drove off.

After a search by Temple and Philadelphia police, the SUV was found a half hour later in the Feltonville neighborhood. The AR-15 was still in the vehicle at the time.

Police took the woman into custody.
